Interior design inspiration: Morgenland store in Kreuzberg, Berlin

Situated in the cozy and family friendly Kreuzberg neighbourhood in Berlin, Morgenland offers a variety of well priced products, many of them with a Middle Eastern touch. The products displayed in the front of the store on shiny days give an idea of the variety of styles and budgets.
For the beginning, my favourite are the colourful cushions that look very appealing in the morning spring sun.
Some of the wooden chairs and tables are equally interesting, very well suited for small family interiors.
The indoors shop offers even more surprises and a much more diversity of products. I love the Oriental lamps made of different pieces of colourful glass. Lightened by inside, it creates a mysterious ambiance. Think about hanging them on the corner of the room...
Moroccan style little plates are also very beautiful, with clear colours and attractive patterns.
The customer service is friendly and ready to help, a very important asset given the big number of products displayed chaotically in such a small space. The prices are also friendly, at least for the small items.
From cushions of different sizes and patterns to aromated candles, you can have everything you need for a speedy decoration of your new appartment. If you are a minimalist like me, you do not even need to search anywhere else.
Jewellery inspired by the Middle East patterns, made of white metals or silver are also available, many looking a bit overcharged for my taste, but it depends of your mood, style and outfit.

Be a chef for more than a day: The challenge of kitchensurfing

There are many many people that cook and many more that cook excellently. Why not sharing their recipes and ideas and getting money for that.

As you can sell your do-it-youself articles on Etsy and other dedicated networks, why not branding your qualities of chef and cooking in a restaurant, as big chefs do?

Those interesting in such ideas should have a look at the network developed by Kitchensurfing. You set up your page, your credentials and, of course, some pictures about the secret meals and as soon as someone is ready to book your service, you should get ready for your first, second and third challenge. You get paid, you can improve your experience and who knows, sooner or later you will be able to work as a full time chef or creator of recipes!

Happy challenge!

Pumpkins time

Pumpkins, photographed in Canada.Image via Wikipedia//Not my Hokkaido local German offer

Autumn is already here for more than one month already and the winter is preparing to enter the stage. Sounds like a second grade composition but by now the weather is creating me a couple of adaptation problems.
I thought that now it is about time to try a couple of pumpkin combinations. As by now, for me it is very difficult to find in my Berlin area anything else but Hokkaido pumpkin, I bet on this choice, even some of my friends with serious experience in the area told me that better not. For me, it was the first time ever when tasting and testing such tasty dishes.

Mashed pumpkin

First action: cut the pumpkin into slices - not easy if you want to do it alone, girl - and boil it for about 40 minutes. After, peel it carefully and add in the blender together with: 1-2 pairs of garlic finely chopped, olive or sunflower oil, curry powder. If you want, you could add 1 or 2 carrots too. Mash it all together and serve it as an accompaniement to chicken breast or as a simple, separate vegetarian dish. Me, I chosed the last option and I felt a couple of hours after as a quiet elephant.

The Soup

For the soup, I put some 1 liter water to boil and added the mashed combination, plus some more salt. Mixed it from time to time and let the combination boil for maximum 15 minutes. In comparison with the mashed option, the result is a very light soup, to which I added some very sweet French bread.
