5 Reasons to Love Wall Stickers

My renovation project which I started in the first half of this year and still needs some final touches to be finished, not only taught me a lot of things about proper house management, but also introduced me to many interesting materials and interior design ideas. One of them is the wall stickers, which I actually introduced into my life much earlier, when started to decorate the room of my son.
Since then, I extended their use also for the kitchen and the bathroom and the more I get to know them the more I love the idea. Therefore, this blog post aimed at outlining (at least) 5 reasons why to love wall stickers.
No.1Easy to Apply Most of the renovation project involved acquiring new skills, especially when it comes to painting. And also new clothes, to be used only when I am supposed to paint. In the case of wall stickers, all you need is to take them out of their roll and apply on the wall. As simple as that. No traces, no dirt, no headaches.
No.2 - Affordable investment I acquired my wall stickers from various places, including Bauhaus and online dedicated shops and every time the investment was definitely within my budget. Given the fact that I can take them out any time and eventually change them with something different, it is really worth any single cent.
No.3 - Funny Especially for active children like my son, the wall stickers are such a fantastic way to learn, while making life more colourful.
No. 4-Covering unwanted flaws You have a wall with various aesthetic issues - such as small holes or traces of dirty hands or...who knows what ? A cute little wall sticker can keep you covered until you have enough money and/or time to set up the issue professionally.
No. 5 Flexible interior design solution - Are you about to leave your flat and you will always regret your beautiful decorated corner? A wall sticker exactly like the one you used to have once will bring back the home feeling and all the good memories.

What about you? What are your best tips about using wall stickers?

5 shopping ideas for your bathroom from Butlers

In the hurry to take care of the other rooms of the house, the baby's room especially, it seems I forget that the bathroom needs some attention and some design touch too. Maybe it is too small for our needs now and needs a completely redesign. Getting ready for the moment when we will finally enjoy the pleasure of the bathroom of our dreams, I did some ideas hunting at the Butlers store in Friedrichstrasse, Berlin and went out with some nice and affordable inspiration.
Baskets for laundry - These items were supposed for kitchen, but with a bit of humour, you can use them for bathroom too. They are available in different sizes - 31x37x21, 27x34x20, 35x42x23 cm - and prices - 9.95 EUR, 7.95 EUR, 12.95 EUR. I loved the colour combination, that brings creativity in any corner of the house they are placed.
White towels - There are never enough towels, especially when the guests season just started. These ones are big - 50x100 cm - and the flowers adornments gives a touch of elegance. Available for 6.95 EUR.
Bath carpet - Maybe the colour is not as joyous, but it is very practical if you love to jump out of the shower on some warm carpet. It is big enough to cover a big area where you can leave some of your clothes too. Available for 14.95 EUR.
Bath inserts - are just cool. 100% rubber, you fix it on your bath and put your tired feet on it. Available in different colours, it helps you to relax after a crazy day of running around the city. The price is 12.95.
Shower curtains. I undersestimated the role of the shower curtain until mine got broken. Until everything was fixed, I 'enjoyed' the water going out on the floor and the humidity and unpleasant view of pools of water all over the place. Available in beige and white - I suggest beige, just in case you want to have one of the baskets - of 220 cm, it is machine lavable, water repellent, with rings to fix and weighted hem. The purchase price - 25 EUR.

What about you, what are your must-have for your bathroom?

The interior design corner: Play with letters

For some the holidays are over, for others the high season of celebrations is about to begin. You don't always need to have a special occasion to celebrate and embellish your house or your little personal corner. If you are not extremely talented to make your own drawings or create special patterns, for sure you know to count and to write. For people like you - and me - , playing with letters and numbers can be an opportunity for personalizing your house. You can either paint them, or made various paper cuts or even wooden cuts. If your hand is not sure enough, any hobby shop has various shapes of letters that can be purchased at a very modest price.
Especially if you are a big family, creating personalized corners for every member of the family is not only beautiful, but also helpful. Think about the messy mornings when your little ones cannot find their own things because too sleepy to see where is their closet. Such decorations can be done with the full participation of the children that can paint and chose themselves their own colours and decorations.
Time-wise, such decorations are easy to make and you don't need to wait a specific amount of time till you are ready. One or two hours in the weekends can prove to be inspired moments and you can have a lot of fun while doing it, alone or together with your life partner and/or children. The failure risk is also very low and thus, you will be motivated to continued with more similar works.
Such projects work too for a party or anniversary, but also when you are out of ideas for a special present wrapping. Are you preparing a romantic or family dinner? Add some small letters or numbers marking the anniversary on the candles set to light!
Do you have a small shop and restaurant, and a limited budget, but you want to welcome warmly your customers? Welcome them with a cute funny message made up by colourful letters!
What do you need: 3-4 types of brushes, box of colours, various rubber colours, scissors, glue, colourful papers. All those can be purchased with an investment of around $30.
Good luck!
