Mitomo Self-Care for the Summer

The last year I did a couple of reviews of the very efficient and high-quality Mitomo sheet masks, but on purpose I kept a couple of them for the summer time. 

Summer is my favorite time of the year, for the good weather and the many travel opportunities but it does require a lot of extra skin care. The travel is quite exhausting for the skin and the warm weather is dehydrating the entire body with significant and visible effects easily to be read on your face.

Extra moisturizing is especially required if you are past your 30s, regardless of your genetics and skin features in general. I do have a good genetics, but as I was travelling in the South of Germany for the past week, I realized how tired and dried my skin looked. With or without make-up, my face had a very unhealthy appearance. The elegant, easy to care Mitomo masks helped me to give a healthy boost to my face. 

The package I've sed included four efficient masks, to be used either early in the morning or late in the evening, allowing the composition to operate overnight. I used them on a clean face, while sitting in my bed relaxing at the end of sometimes very crazy work and travel days. After 20-30 minutes, you will see the changes!

My favorite treatment was the Premium Moisturizing Face Mask Pack, packed with ingredients that brought the glow back to my face, among which: castor oil, kiwi fruit extract, citric acid or sodium hyaluronate. Pure Facial Essence Mask is another favorite of mine as it cleans deeply the pores and balances the hydration levels. The next in line I used was Pore Control Facial Essence Mask, for its hard work of cleaning the dirt and the clotted channels that give an unclean and unkept appearance to your face. Last but not least, Premium Elasticity Face Mask Pack that I just used it efore starting another series of travels for the next weeks creates fantastic results in less than one hour, with a better outline of the face and features contour and an intensive hydration that stays for longer. The series also include a whitening mask, which given my very white skin that rarely get a proper tan, I skipped it.

As in the previous cases, I was extremely happy with my Mitomo masks, except that this time, the sheet masks were somehow a bit too complicated folded and more than once I needed some extra time to unfold them without damaging the edges.

Skin care review: Bebe young care with green tea

Finding the right face cream for the long winters here is not an easy job. I have a normal skin and therefore I am not very pretentious, but on the other hand, it is quite challenging to pick up an otherwise easy product that should do a good protection job. Some expensive choices can do it right, but not always. I also like to not switch too much the skin care products, keeping up for a long time with products that offer the adequate protection.

Completely by accident, a couple of months ago I decided to try the Bebe Young Care cream with green tea. It is aimed for mixed skin, which is exactly the stage my skin is: overall normal, but not that 100% young and shining. Especially for the winter, it is better that you use this mix as the skin is over exposed to long periods of cold - while outside - followed by longer periods of warm - when indoors.

The cream was offered together with make up removal wet napkins, the kind of removal which I am using regularly for almost a year. The price at Rossmann Drugstore in Berlin was under 5 EUR.

I am using the cream twice the day: in the morning, before using the make-up and in the evening, before going to sleep. The skin is becoming in a very short time matte and it has a different, more pleasant texture by touching. It has a pleasant smell and during the whole period of time I didn't experience any allergic reactions. The 50 ml. small glass can reach for at least three months. 

It serves as a good basis for make-up.

Besides various minerals, it contains a significant amount of green tea, an ingredients which has many valuable advantages for the skin and skin care in general. For instance, it has known antioxidant effects with anti-aging consequences, it protects against acne and pollution. Therefore, every major beauty brand includes lately green tea among the mix of ingredients.

Overall, the bebe young care with green tea is recommended for normal and mix skins. It is efficient and offers the right protection for the skin of a modern woman always under the attack of stress and busy life. Strongly recommended.

Beauty purchases from the Body Shop

There are a couple of skin care and beauty products I always purchase from Body Shop, mostly green-tea based but also some Vitamin D face spray - to be reviewed in a later post. However, I haven't tried too often their make up products. Celebrating the summer, I made myself a little different present: the smoky blue eye definer and the eye palette groowing gold.

I always loved the eye definer, but I mostly used the black one. This blue is decent, from the dark ultramarine family. It is very light - 1 gram only - and is provided also at the other end with a correction pencil. In the last month, I used it frequently, with good and stable results. After half of a busy day, the eye liner did not smashed and looks as fresh as it was in the morning. It also has the advantage that can be easily adapted to various circumstances, from casual to dating and evening glamour. 

Very often, I am using the pencil together with the eye palette colour choices. A good match and, for my makeup needs, a very fine combination. The colours are on the list of favourite in clothes too, but go well also with yellow or just black outfits. As in the case of the pencil, it is pretty adaptable and it lasts long. It brings a touch of discretion and elegance to the outfit and allowed me more than once to focus the weight of my look on the eyes. The box is provided with an eye colour brush which works very efficiently. Another advantage is that on the back of the box it offers a sample of makeup. To be honest, I've found the idea of applying the gold-yellow one at the corner of the eye as a very inspired one, as it gives width to the eye, especially if you have the almond shaped type as I do. 

In conclusion, both products were a good and long-time investment.

Beauty product review: Vinosource Moisturing Sorbet by Caudalie

One of the first and most important lessons my mother taught me about being a woman was to take care of my skin, as early in life as possible. Besides the good genetics, my clean and youngish looking skin is the result of years of intensive care and special protection, all round the year and the day. For instance, I never go to sleep without cleaning my face - either I had one of my many make-up free days. Another healthy habit I follow since my early teenage years is to use every day a skin care product, particularly in the morning. 

In the last two months, I had a new entry favourite product: Vinosource Moisturing Sorbet by Caudalie. I knew that wine, especially the red one, makes wonder to the body - if consummed in moderation, of course - but did not know too much about the benefits of wine-products for the skin. Caudalie uses grape-based ingredients in the composition of many of their products. In the case of the Moisturing Sorbet - 40 ml. - there is organic grapewater and vinolevure, which helpt the strengthening and moisturizing of the skin. It also gas chamomille extract, which calms and soothes. 

Although it is recommended for sensitive skin, it does good to the normal skin as mine too. I am using it in the morning, first thing after I wake up and it gives a long lasting freshness effect. In the case of my skin, it makes it feel velvet-like and matifies it. It is recommended to use it in the evening too. For an intense feeling of freshness, it is recommended to keep in in the fridge. 

I strongly recommend this product, especially if you are in your late 30s and you have a very active life, which also involves frequent trips and climate changes.
