Sugar roasted figs with cinnamon

All you need, besides love, is: a couple of nicely cut figs, the sugar sauce - 2-3 spoons of sugar in water - and some nails of cinnamon powder. All together are introduced in a moderately heated oven and used to live together for a couple of minutes - maximum 20. To be served with fresh water in a sunny afternoon on the beach.

Sweet avocado with lemon and sugar

I found the inspiration for this sweet avocado recipe from the South-African Cooking Book. The result was a bit different, and not exclusively a success, but I am not always hunted by the success of the (perfect) beginner.

What do you need to feed 2 (not always very sophisticated, but always curious) people:

2 medium avocados, sliced and minced in the mixer
1/2 lemon juice
200 gr. sugar - brown or white
You could add some avocado honey, if you are lucky enough to own.

Preparation time: 20-25 minutes

Mix all the ingredients together, and serve it cold or at the room temperature.

Mango with almond and baked bananas

Out of time and raw materials, but with a fresh lecture and keen to experience something new and tasty, I took the risk of a special South-African recipe, adapted to my time and - let's dare to say - cooking style (please, don't ask me to define what it is).

Ingredients, for 2 persons:

2 medium sized bananas halved
2 spoons of oil
1 egg white
1/2 mango sliced
2 spoons almonds
2 spoons cinnamon sugar

If you want a special taste, you could add the juice from half of a lemon.

Time for preparation: 30 minutes

How to:
Bananas are baked in the oily pan, for 7 minutes, at 100C
Beat the egg white, together with 1 spoon of cinnamon sugar, till you have a baiser.
Add the egg white and the almonds and bake them together for another 17 minutes.
Everything is done, so be ready to add the mango (and the lemon juice, if you want to) - in a more inspiring way that I did. To be served warmed or cold.
It was easy, isn't it?

Baking bread

Not very long time ago, I used to be extremely jealous of my girl friends posting pictures with their successful bread and exchanging their successful experiences in the field of doughs. How could I confess them, without being considered the black sheep of the cooking world, that I am simply afraid to think about me baking bread and I would rather prefer to starve than to get involved in the magics of producing out of flour, yeast and other ingredients a crunchy bread.
But one winter day - maybe I have to be thankful to the bad German weather for all my progresses - I studied several recipes of bread, made a list of the most-haves and back home, started the experiment. This poppy bread is one of my best, but almost none of my experiences in the field by now were a failure. Thus, I will keep going and going.
For the poppy seeds bread, you need the following ingredients:
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
5 cups of white flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups of vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon butter
3 eggs
3 tablespoons poppy seeds

Mix all the ingredients - but only 2 tablespoons poppy seeds - and put the dough in a warm place. Wait for 30-40 minutes. Preheat the oven at 170 C. Bake the dough - use the 1 tablespoon of poppy left as glaze - for another 45 minutes.
Enjoy it! It is simply delicious!

Fresh and sweet honey melon

This is a very easy fruit dessert.
All you need is (beyond love for cooking):
- 1 honey melon
- honey
- nutmeg (or Cinnamon)
- mint - fresh or dried
- 1 fig
- powder sugar. In my case, I used a special chestnut sugar brought from Corsica, moderately sweet.
What you have to do is:
Cut the honey melon in two equal halves. Pull out the seeds. Cut and peel the fig. Spread the mint, together with the sugar, the nutmeg (or maybe cinnamon if you like it), 1 spoon of honey and slices of fig. Put them in the fridge and wait for one hour, in order to let all the ingredients to melt together. Good to serve it night, day, morning, summer, autumn, spring or summer. A fresh sweet taste.
